About Woodcraft, Inc...

Custom projects in any style
In our 5000 square foot shop close to downtown Portland, we build custom projects in wood designed by architects, as well as our own custom designs. Whether an historic restoration or a contemporary expression, each project is executed according to the highest standards of our art.

An old-fashioned apprenticeship
I learned my craft the old-fashioned way. Beginning as a furniture maker’s apprentice in 1975, I subsequently worked as a studio artist, a builder of commercial projects (from corporate offices to pipe organs and trolley cars), an industrial designer, and a finish carpenter. For a solo woodworker, I felt I had done it all.

Pride in teamwork
Today my great satisfaction is in teaching my own apprentices. I have made it my practice to train my workers personally, to ensure the highest standards. I teach them a broad range of woodworking techniques and encourage them to be guided by pride in their own workmanship. They have grown into a skilled and experienced team capable of handling any project, large or small, with old-time craftsmanship, artistic detail, and professional polish.
